Building Traffic – By Building Relationships On Twitter

To grow your online business, you have to build relationships with your potential clients, and nurture those relationships, meet their needs.

This is where Twitter can help. Twitter can reach more people then you can imagine, and can be used as a great cost efficient marketing tool. It has the power to build a network community with individuals that have the same interests as you. You can contribute to this community by sharing great ideas, interest, information, and more.

You can build trust, respect and be known as an expert on your topic. In turn you will bring more targeted traffic to your site. Your business will grow, and you can do this in the comfort of your home, at no cost. But it will take some work on your part.

Get started by choosing a user name. Try to use something easy to remember. This will be part of your URL. Next create your profile page. By using your name and your own picture, people will see you as a real person they are following, who is giving them great advice, ideas and information, someone they can trust and respect. This will help build your relationships. Your bio will have to be 3-4 short basic facts about yourself, or business. If someone wants to know more about you, they will have to visit your website.

By building your own page design, you can use the left side to promote your site, blog, products or services. Leave the URL’s to guide them to your sites.

If using Twitter for marketing, don’t keep your tweets confidential. You want as many people as possible to see them.

To build a following you have to first start following others. Start by following family, friends and other contacts. Next go to search.Twitter.com and search for others that are interested in the same topics as you. Read their bio and tweets. Follow them if they look like an expert on their topic. See who they are following, and who’s following them. Hang out with them.

When you follow someone not only the person you are following will see but everyone else following them will see.

It is very important that you contribute to the conversation frequently. Make sure your tweets are interesting and provide valuable information. Everyone included in the conversation will see.

By staying active in the conversation, providing great information, sharing ideas, links, tweeting about a project you’re working on, or asking and answering questions of others. You will gain their friendship, trust, respect, and become known as an expert on your topic. Your list of Twitter followers will grow and so will the targeted traffic to your website.
